Spring and allergy

I love spring, but irk! I hate the allergy that comes with it too. The moment spring arrives I start sneezing, my eyes get watery, etc. I always end up taking over-the-counter meds. It bothers me because I don't like taking meds...yuck! I don't even take vitamins unless I really have to, or that I see it important enough to keep me healthy. Anyway, I am glad that there are meds for people who get allergic to spring; I mean people who get an allergy when comes spring time. Happy spring peeps! Let's enjoy spring anyway, after all it only lasts for a few months or so. Ok, see you next time!

Brother on TV

Guest post of the week by Brittany Booker

My sister called me in a panic the other day! She was home sick with her daughter who had spent the entire night throwing up every ten minutes. She couldn't send her to school so they stayed home together and stayed in their jammies all day. My niece slept most of the day so my sister just snuggled in bed with her and watched TV. She called me to tell me that I NEEDED to turn to The Ellen Show right then. I was folding laundry and was all, "I am not going to drop everything just to watch a show, just tell me what it is.". She wouldn't let up though, she said I had to go watch right now! At first I couldn't figure out which of the directv local channels it was on and then when I found it I gasped! There on the stage with Ellen was our little brother. He was talking about what it is like to live as a homosexual man. We were both totally shocked. We had both figured, but now it was fact.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day! I hope everybody had a nice time celebrating the day of love. Usually with me, I get flowers and chocolates-the usual treat. However, if I were asked about what I really want as a woman. I'd say that a nice candlelight dinner at home would do and a quality time together. An extra special time if you know what I mean...LOL! Or that a romantic date somewhere; a getaway somewhere that is relaxing...wink. Ah...stirring at the sunset together. So yeah, a dance in the moonlight.

FORGOT TO EAT?!

Guest written by our friend Mason Abbott

I was flipping through Direct tv local channels today when my stomach started to growl. It occurred to me that I had been watching television and working on my laptop all day. Now it was four o’clock in the afternoon and I hadn’t eaten lunch! I haven’t forgotten to eat lunch in years! I couldn’t believe that I did it today. I immediately ran and got something to eat. If I don’t eat sometimes, I get really bad migraines. By really bad, I can’t handle light or loud sounds. If I have a really bad migraine, I don’t even leave the house. Luckily, I realized that I hadn’t eaten just in time. I think that if I had gone just one more hour without eating that I would have most certainly gotten sick and would have not gotten all of my work done. It has been a year since my last migraine, but I couldn’t afford another one, that’s for sure! I would miss my deadlines and be in lots of trouble with my boss.

I get homesick sometimes

I stay skinny because I skip meals, but, of course, I am not proud of it. I am just lazy with fixing something to eat. I don't advice anyone to skip meals just so to lose weight. It is not the way to go about it, you can develop an illness doing that...I heard. Maybe this is why I am already sickly at my age. Anyway, I miss our Filipino food. I don't feel good sometimes just thinking how long I have been away from home and have not been able to taste our native dishes-cooking. It gives me a headache to imagine the food I missed. Hmmm...I may not show it in my face that I am dying to get home, but I do. I am desperate, and every time I hear someone going home, I wish I can go too. Oh, I really wish I can visit my homeland.
